Artistic styles within gaming
In this piece i will be going over different art styles that people use when creating games or images.
Art style 1- Photo-realism- this is where you have a high quality image that creates a realistic feeling but is not an actual photograph.
Battlefield 1(2016) is a good example of where the developers have created high quality models that make you feel like you're right in the battlefield.
art style 2- cell shading- this is non-realistic art work that heavily relies on colours for a much more "cartoony" look to it.
Team Fortress 2 is a great cell shaded game that gives an immersive feeling whilst not looking realistic.
art style 3- pixel art- pixel art is normally used for 2d games and is not of high quality.
Pong is one of the original pixel games that even though it wasn't very realistic it was still addictive and sold lots of copies.
art style 4- exaggeration- this is when you take a cartoon style game and exaggerate some of their features to make them seem over the top
dragon ball z is very exaggerated whether it comes to the character design or within the fights that they have.
